For this brief I was asked to create a show stopping dress for BBC's Strictly come Dancing host Tess Daly for a Christmas special. The episode had a Hollywood Golden age theme.

For this garment I was heavily inspired by 1950s Hollywood gowns, specifically satin gowns with beautiful draping around the waist. For the final design I decided to go for a beautiful green satin inspired by the Christmas theme and the Hollywood dresses. The draping leads the eye towards a gorgeous broach and silver satin ribbons to give it that extra strictly sparkle. 

The shape of the dress reflects Tess Daly's classic style while still suiting the theme. There is plenty of fabric in the base of the gown to provide Tess with enough movability to go up and down the stairs and walk around.
